Virtual Football World: The 1st World Cup (Oceania Zone-Stage 2& Stage 3)
Stage Two Rankings
Stage Three
When the final whistle blew, the last two tickets to the World Cup main stage finally found their owners.
The overlords remain the overlords. After the fluctuations in the second stage, New Zealand recovered the cold-blooded efficiency of the "All Whites" at the most critical moment. With impenetrable defense and superior aerial dominance, they pushed their command of this region to its peak. Their 15-point performance told all of Oceania: as long as the New Zealanders take it seriously, this territory remains theirs.
Following close behind are the most elegant challengers in these waters. The Solomon Islands finished with 13 points, successfully locking in the second World Cup entry. In their battles against Vanuatu and American Samoa, they displayed a level of technical finesse far superior to their opponents. They splashed their talent across the pitch, securing a historic entry into the World Cup in a highly entertaining fashion. It is the best reward for their years of persistence in playing technical football.
Against the absolute strength of the giants, Vanuatu and American Samoa ultimately hit a reality check. Vanuatu finished with 4 points; despite giving their all against the two giants, their lack of finishing ability forced them to stop here with regret.
As for American Samoa, the team that created an epic myth, their dream journey ended with 2 points. Although they stopped in the final four, their feat of staging an upset after upset from the qualifiers onwards has become the brightest sunset in the history of Oceania football. They left the field with the respect of the world, proving that even the humblest power has the right to look up at the stars.
