Virtual Football World: The 1st World Cup (Africa Zone-Stage 3)

African Qualification: Third Stage Rankings

  • Group A Analysis: Algeria showed the potential of a founding king. Their 13 points prove they are formidable not just at home, but also in the harsh desert of away matches. Burkina Faso acted as the hunter, snatching the second ticket with 10 points through their tenacity. Mauritania and Cape Verde, tied at 5 points, lacked the offensive firepower to compete at this level and are left as spectators.

  • Group B Analysis: Pure dominance. Ghana was flawless, remaining unbeaten with 4 wins and 2 draws to top the group with 14 points, proving they are the true leaders of West Africa. Nigeria secured the second spot with 11 points. Gambia and Zimbabwe were simply outclassed, finishing with 4 points each, highlighting a clear gap in quality compared to the two giants.

  • Group C Analysis: Cameroon put on a masterclass, finishing with 16 points and an almost destructive momentum. The race for second was a "bittersweet victory," with South Africa scraping through with only 7 points in a chaotic dogfight against Guinea (6 pts) and Uganda (4 pts). South Africa advanced by a razor-thin 1-point margin.

  • Group D Analysis: The most suffocating group. Tunisia (11 pts) and Morocco (10 pts) used their veteran experience to lock down the advancement channels. Benin is the most unfortunate side, eliminated with 9 points despite fighting hard until the final round. Congo finished bottom with 4 points, unable to keep pace with the tactical intensity.

  • Group E Analysis: A perfect "two-power" structure. Ivory Coast and Egypt both finished with 13 points, showing stability far superior to their peers. They advanced hand-in-hand as expected. Gabon (7 pts) found no breakthrough against the giants, and Comoros’ "dark horse" run from the second stage officially ended here.

  • Group F Analysis: Shocking! This is the most jaw-dropping result of the entire African stage. Equatorial Guinea emerged as the unlikely winner with 9 points! Even more dramatic was the battle for second place: DR Congo and Senegal tied at 8 points. Ultimately, Senegal was eliminated due to goal difference—the biggest name to miss out on this inaugural World Cup! Zambia (4 pts) lost their way in the chaos of this group.
